BKS Iyengar pioneered the use of props in yoga. He figured out endless ways to use everyday objects like belts, bricks, blocks, and chairs to mobilize, stabilize and support practitioners so everyone could experience the benefits of yoga. When used correctly they leave an imprint on the body so once the prop is removed the muscle memory that remains is a highly effective teaching point.
This workshop will demystify and clarify how, when and why to use props in standing postures, seated twists, and forward folds and backbends.
